Robert Whelan is the Poet Laureate of Rockport, MA. He is widely published in anthologies and journals in the US, Europe and Asia. His poems have been translated into multiple languages. In 2022 Bob was awarded a Silver Medal at the Noussa International Poetry Festival in Noussa, Greece. This November 2024 Bob’s work will be included in the Lunar Codex and launched as part of a NASA mission to the Moon’s surface.  Believing poetry is best as spoken word, he frequents open mics in Boston, New England and internationally. Every month he hosts the Rockport Open Mic on Zoom as well as the Gloucester Writers Center Open Mic.
